Footnotes and endnotes are used to explain, comment on, or provide references for text in a document. The best way is to place your insertion point wherever you want the footnote. The source information stored in the Citations tool or Source Manager can be used to create citations, a list of works cited, or a bibliography. On a Mac, in MS Word 2011, the Zotero submenu will appear under the Script menu (looks like a squiggle in the menu bar). On the Edit menu, point to Find, and then click Advanced Find and Replace. Change to the EndNote X8 tab in Word, and click the Find Citation button (with the magnifying glass). Insert a Dagger † into Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook. Add or change sources, citations, and bibliographies. MS Word inserts a reference mark after the text and adds the footnote mark at the end of the page. In the Footnote and Endnote box, select the options you want. Use footnotes and endnotes in Pages on iPad. 1) Tap the spot in the document where you want to add the footnote. If Word on the Mac is similar to Word on Windows in this respect, change to Draft View and then click on Show Notes in the Footnotes section of the ribbon and then from the Footnotes dropdown.
